Check out Hill House Hammond (Peterborough office) and MSM (Dave Spragg) on 01279 870535.

I have the green car in the picture with MSM, and the sprint car with HHH. HHH were well cheap, and can arrange track day cover, MSM can't, and were a shade more expensive. Both were cheaper than Flux, who I will NEVER use again, even if insurance was free!

Scott,

Don't go near Flux, they are a bunch of disorganised amateurs! There have been several comments about them on other threads from many dissatisfied customers. I'm with Osbornes and am paying £175 for a limited mileage policy. I've not heard any bad comments about them and have no experience of making a claim. Perhaps others have?

I'm using Footman James who are providing cover on 1600cc, 4500 miles for £180 and with a lower excess than others were quoting.

i'm due for renewal with flux at£120 (3000m, 38yrs , 1700xf ,value £5000 ) i thought this wasnt bad ? should i take a better look about ? whats with flux before its too late ?

If I remember correctly Osbourne's didn't cover labour? Just parts and liability. Course, that was last year and I was young and niaive.

Footman James are the other option, do club members still get a discount?

Don't touch flux.....messy.

Had a no fault claim with them on my tin top about five years ago and it took 2mths for them to get my car examined and repaired via an authorized toyota dealer. The dealer couldn't believe the wait before they got the go ahead to repair. (cost flux a packet for storage of the car i bet!)

I'm currently with HHH they were £5 more than Footman (who i was with last year) but I've got trackday cover for £35 per event- £50 with footman.

Having said that I found Footman very helpful and they even sent me a letter with proof of a claim free year without me asking when the policy finished. The move to HHH was just a £££ thing!

I'm using Footman James.  £258 on my 1800 speedsport, limited to 3000 miles.  I'm 28, full no claims, but had a bit of a smashing time  :(  in the fiancee's car (my accident her claim).

Renewal time!!  I was looking at this thread for tips, and thought I'd post my results.  Age 29, about 3000miles/year, car garaged. Currently the car is in S.Wales (NP12) and soon to be in Manchester (M20), so I got quotes for both:

                                    NP12         M20

MSM 01279 870535            215           291

HHH  01733 310899            278           409 :0

Osbournes 0208 3886060     216           Wont cover!!!

Footman J 0121 561 4196    227           311  (both include breakdown cover)

Adrian ****              didn't bother

So MSM is cheapest, FJ has breakdown cover - time to check the cost of teh breakdown cover  :(

I expect breakdown cover will cost more than £20  :(

Just be grateful you don't live in Belfast. After trying sixteen UK insurers I am insured with a rally specialist (as a favour because I navigate) at the ridiculous cost of £680pa. Apparently Northern Ireland is clasified as being on mainland Europe and "we can't quote for foreign countries"

w***kers! :(

have just renewed my insurance on a 4.0L V8

and Hill House Hammond were by far the cheapest.

6000 miles £270.00pa

Got a really good quote from HHH, £217 for my sport carbon and £60 for trackdays but unfortunately this did not cover my wife because she is under 30. :)

Best alternative is FJ at £280 and £52.50 for each track day (for both of us)  :(  :0

Anybody any ideas on how to get "legally" around insurers refusal to quote in Northern Ireland. My car is a 4.6 V8 and I have 22 years of accident free motoring.
