I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who very kindly helped me after my argument with the MOUNTAIN.

I took it really steady for the first 2 sessions (as advised at the very good briefing), but decided to open my turquoise tornado up on the 3rd session, BIG MISTAKE!!!! I did 2 reasonable laps then at the Mountain my lack of experience in a powerfull car got the better of me.  I was not straight on the exit and the car spun and i met the armco   :( .

What a horrible feeling, i felt so stupid!!!!  The marshalls where very supportive and said you are not the first and certainly wont be the last.  I am very sorry to everyone in a/b session for reducing their lap times.

Many thanks to Paul and his team from play's kool for all their help in making it possible for me to drive my poorly V8 home.  Many thanks to Chaz, Terry and several others for lending me the tools to make the repairs.  A big thanks to Jeremy Philips for shooting of to his factory and getting me a replacement steering rack.

I am very lucky that there is very little damage to my car.  I have learnt a big lesson.  The main reason for the post is to say what a great bunch of people WSCC members are and I am proud to be a member of the club. :D  :D

Glad you got home ok. Another car went off late in the day at exactly the same place.

Hope car is back together soon as it is a great car.

The mountain does need treating carefully and will always catch someone out as the rear suspension unloads and then reloads as the power comes back on and the rear wheels grip.

Keep it in a straight line and get off the gas until it sorts itself out is a good technique.

See you at the next track day

I wondered what repairs you were doing. I was parked quite close to you in the blue Maxda 3. I didn't come over and say anything, as you had most of the front of the car in bits when I looked from a distance, and thought the last thing you would need is me hovering around you. Glad you got home ok, and hope the damge was not to intense.

damage is

Broken track rod end n/s, but is wide track and rose jointed so not a dead easy repair.

N/s front lower wishbone badly bent.

Both alloys on n/s chipped and scratched again light weight magnesium Raceline jobs so pricey.

cracked rear bodywork mainly round rear n/s wheel, always more work than you think.

n/s exhaust silencer baffles loose.

front n/s carbon fibre cylce wing badly cracked.

I havn' t had the guts to go into the garage since my return but will do tomorrow, to do a full damage report.
