Guest Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 From the BBC - A final year engineering student at Brunel University in the U.K. has developed a washing peg that tries to stop you hanging out your clothes if it is likely to rain. The peg holder has sensors that measure changes in air pressure. If they detect a pattern of pressure changes that predict rain in the next half hour, the peg holder locks, stopping the clothes being hung on the line. Unfortunately, the system has no way to stop the clothes getting wet if it starts raining after they have been hung out. Quote
Mark B Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Another amazing invention, stick it in the cupboard next to the chocolate teapot will you John......... Quote
simple Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 What's even more stupid is that by the sounds of it your clothes will be locked on to the clothes line if it starts to rain? Quote

Peter Cox Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Unfortunately, the system has no way to stop the clothes getting wet if it starts raining after they have been hung out. you have to admit though, that would be the domain of an intelligence far in advance of our own i.e. he's not done bad Quote
