zoso Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 had a one as a hire car, it was a 1.4 or littler... Was nice. Cruised well on the motorway, not as chuckable as the punto I used to have but was alot more stable. Nice and roomy, the one I had had done over 8K and the interior was a little rattley but not much had come off (mirror stalks). Seemed ok overall. Mate has had one for a couple of years. Few minor ECU problems made it stall at lights but it got fixed. He seems to still like it. HTH Quote
pistonbroke Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 The saying goes ... today's focus, tomorrows fiesta siestas are reliably cheap . Why dont ya go fer a mondeo ? loads around , cheap as chips , reliable , hatch or estate TD's ecocomical can get yer carpet int back alongside yer rod and yer eel trap Quote

Impney Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Mother in laws numerous Fiestas have never put a foot wrong. Last one was the 1.1 Zetec. Went really well. Fiestas are allways easy to sell on. As for where to buy, nowt wrong with car supermarkets as you can get their prices even lower by haggling. Auctions and private are OK but with a degree more risk. Don't forget the local dealerships they are all aware of internet and supermarkets and now are willing to cut their prices accordingly if you are prepared to haggle. Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Try here. Unfortunately it's in Slough - nothing fortunate is in Slough. Quote
Eccentric_Rich Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 I think the last of the Mark 3 Fiestas are great value for money as a second car and fun to drive. I would go for a Zetec LX which have a heated front screen, air con, electric windows etc as standard. Richard. Quote
Richgm Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Next door neighbor have just had a new fiesta on higher for a one way trip back from gatwick. His wife has the previous model as her daily car. He thinks that the newer one is a little more top heavy than the old one. Apart from that, not lot to choose between the two. Quote
oldman Posted September 4, 2005 Author Posted September 4, 2005 Anyway, locks t'new car for a couple of days. Can't seem t'put Wessie away these days.bl****ell,it's poppin & bangin every day up in't Lakes. In fact it's causing more concern than the low flying aircraft Quote
Mike Lloyd Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Have had four new Fiestas in last 5 years ( dont ask!!, Two Zetec S's which although underpowered are great fun, New Fiesta is a much better built car with much better interior. Currently running a 1.4 Zetec, which I am really pleased with. You will find the best buys privately, ebay good way to check current market value. Quote
James Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 We had a Fiesta Zetec mk4 and I have to be hounest the thing fell apart in the three years we owned it, we bought second hand from a dealer with 6000 miles on the clock we had replaced 1 cat 2 exaust systems 2 coil packs Pair of lower wishbones (bushes were naked) brakes all around front discs front shocks hand brake cable 1 front head light (faulty) I have vowed never to buy another Ford ever again!! when you consider this was the wifes run around the ware was a little extreme they maybe better now but i dont trust them enough to give them my money!
