Johnson Posted August 31, 2005 Share Posted August 31, 2005 Been mulling over the idea of buying a Westie for a couple of years now and have actually got the ok from SWMBO!! I have never even had a passenger ride in one so dont if I will even fit lol (I am 6 foot 2). So now to the favour is there anyone in the Surrey area who would be willing to give me a passenger ride in their car and answer my numerous questions? If it cant be arranged this week I am away for 3 weeks in Prestwold(near Notts I believe not checked yet) so could meet someone up that way Thinking about a X/F engined car as a starterr and then may mod it at a later date. Can anyone reccomend a decent insurer so I can try and get some quotes as I have been driving a leased vehicle for the last 2 years and probably will be for the foreseeable future. See if you can get along to a club meet - usually lots of chance to look at different cars, and get a few rides. 6'2" shouldn't be a problem either, sitting in a few'll soon show you what sort of car to look for. You could come and have a look at my car if you wanted (leicestershire), although it will be going off the road for modifications soon... It is ****e and probably dog slow compared to most Westys though. PM me if ya like. I am 5"6 so my worry was whether I would be able to touch the pedals or not. LOL! Re: insurance. Thanks J where in surrey its where i am .......... happy to show you what can happen when you buy a xf engined car cause thats what i did 8 years ago ......... and its not been the same car ever since. I will message all the people who have offered rides etc individually and grab some mobile numbers off you all if thats ok. If I am lucky I might be able to get one of the people local to Prestwold out on the airfield for a run as we have hired the whole place for almost 3 weeks apart from one day when they are doing a Ferrari experience.Obviously I cannot say wether this will happen for sure yet but will try my best to arrange it.
