Anybody know the cheapest place to get a new Rear Light, just the standard rectangular jobbie ???

I know it is not the done thing to give your money to the factory but this doesn't seem a bad price.......

Think this is in the Archives  ???

Local caravan/Trailer supplies Shop is worth a try as they were the same.

You can buy the lens from any Britax dealer. Check the web site. I think it's www.britax-pmg.com (which doesn't seem to be working right now :bangshead:) or it may be www.britaxpsd.com...

Be aware, there are two types of rear light fitting that look identical, but the lenses are different depths and have different patterns embedded in them. The shallower depth lens with parralel "stripes" is what is used by the factory. The deeper lens have a circular pattern to them and won't fit in place of the shallow lens 'cos the securing screws are too short. Yes, I was that soldier... :bangshead:

oddly enough I buy mine from Caterham as they'll sell the lens on it's own...

edit to add

£10.56p

Caterham cheaper than westfield?  :arse:

ok, so a full unit is actually more expensive from caterham  ;)

Any ideas of Caterhams shipping rates. I reckon they will be a significant part of the cost.....

no idea on shipping... I don't live that far from them and it's always an excuse to check how the other half live... :D

Damn Britax sites ain't working... so I found this, part number CLU9060, IIRC... They reckon they're tractor lights, so click the tractor light link on the left...

Bet nobody can find a spare lense for an early SE with single screw and 2 big lugs......rather than the newer 2 screw type or single screw and full lip.

Will swap 2 x britax complete for one lense.

Local camping supplier - about 3 or 4 quid just for the lens.

the britax site is up again and I can find no mention of a 9060 or anything else that looks right..........

Me neither. It's been a while since I last looked at them though.

That said, when I was looking for replacement lenses I found that my nearest Britax stockist/dsitributor was more help than the head office folk...

is that part number a definite? because I might just order some from your previous link....

Just ordered a pair from that Tractor link :suspect:    :)  Should be here tomorrow, I'll let you know what there like if you can wait.....

No, not definite. I'm working from memory, and also taking an educated guess from the part number on the tractor lights link.

I won't be able to check the part numbers for sure until I can find the lamps on the internet. Best bet would be to look for the part number on the lamps you have. They *should* have 9060 on them somewhere...
