Martin Keene
Anybody know what the weight saving is by throwing the carpets away?
Robandcolin
I haven't weighed it yet but its pretty heavy. probably 10 - 15 kilos if you include the card sidepanel things and securing strip behind the driver. I'm getting rid of mine in readyness for the speed series. every little bit of weight loss will help, I figure I won't add any more power until I've taken everything off that doesn't make it go faster. so far i've removed. Heater Fog light Sparewheel carrier And swapped the headlights for smaller ones Weight saving so far has to be in region of 10-15KG Rob
Martin Keene
b*******, Didn't think it would be that much... I win! I saved ~25kg's over the winter by going to 13" & aero Edited to add: Educated guess at current weight is 555kgs. Hoping to be looking to go even lower over the winter with Tillet-a-like seats
Robandcolin
Already had 13's on mine I'm also getting Fibeglass seats and removing some dials and a new dash with no padding thats got to be worth 700g on the dash alone I'm also removing a kidney and a lung thats got to worth 5kgs. Robandcolin
Coughed up the lung. Passed the kidney. It's an instant weight saving but makes you feel a bit woozy
