steveb Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 What about a mk3 rev3 MR2 Turbo - or too old? you mean a mk3 MR2 / MRS, with a bolt on turbo kit? not the 1994 mk2 rev3? (if that forget it, barge in comparison, although still a nice car, i've got a rev2 power to weight is about 200bhp / ton on most, mine weighs in at 1280kg and has about 280bhp on last dyno) Quote
Mike dB Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Whoops! mk2 is what I meant, you're right! Doh! Quote
CocoPops Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Well I have only tried the VX 200 Turbo and compared to my Westie (SE R1) I can say its no where near as quick! Bit of a silly statement don't you think? A car weighing half as much with the same power. Fairly obvious that the R1 powered westy is quicker Quote
hogman Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Coco, no, no, no! Not come across any R1 having 240bhp yet, even the SBK boys aint getting that out of one!! So really, no i dont think its a silly statement! Stock R1's have 140-150 bhp. Quote

scott beeland Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Wouldn't mind spending £700....... Gonna try and get some more prospective quotes....there's gotta be better prices out there even allowing for my "less than ideal" postcode Quote
CocoPops Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 head over to http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums and you will find some threads on insurance if that helps? Quote

wrightster Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 i am 33 with 6 yrs ncb £650 unlimited mileage on the VX 2.2 having driven both the N.A (mine) and a 260bhp VXT i think both cars are fantastic to drive the N.A is a little bit stiffer suspension wise and easier to chuck through corners it sjust depends how much power you want , personally i prefer the N.A's power delivery over the turbo but its each to their own best car i've ever had though just to add if you get one get a geo set up by scared stiff , you wont get much understeer then Quote
