Hi

Good to see you on Friday Mark. Sorry I did not have more time to chat.

Was pretty ocupied with shaking down the MegaBooster.

For all those interested the car went well. I was limiting myself to 5psi of boost and 6K rpm.

Once I was happy things were OK and I stopped looking at the gauges the car went really well felt really strong going up the hill to Radar.

I was mapping the megasquirt fueling with an Inovate LC-1 from Bill. What a fantastic peice of kit. I went from the car nearly dying from over fueling as soon as it came on boost, to turbine like smooth within about 5 runs with data logging.

I was logging each session then putting the log through a program that calculates a new map based on the wideband reading and your desired AFR.

Its running really quite nicely now. cant wait to finnish running and so I can use the full 10.5K revs and 14psi of boost. I was really amazed at how easy it was to map on the track using the wideband.

It was a fantastic day right up until the point of the accident after lunch. The two chaps in the Caterham were in our hotel and are top guys and I hope that everything works out for the best. My thoughts are with them !!!!!

Cheers

Yep wideband was from Bill. You will be able to use yours though. You can configure the software I used for a TechEdge !!!

I was going to email you on Monday to say hi, let you know how it went and to say we missed you mate !!!

Give me a call or drop me a line. The tunning with the Wideband/Megasquirt was loads easier than I was expecting.

The map is not perfect yet and I have only mapped upto 5psi and 6K revs but it get better with every iteration :-)

Cheers

It was really that easy. I guess the fact that it starts on the standard ECU and the Megasquirt is only used to supplement the fuel system on boost, makes it slightyl easier.

But still it is working and working really well.

I got quite hung up on having a decent initial map. In fact it really didn't matter as after a few iterations it was quite driveable.

Once I have the full boost range and rev range mapped. It will be time to start playing with the Megasquirt Extra boost control :-)

I had a problem with the off boost fueling to start with and the wideband made it quite easy to diagnose and was a good way of testing the fix afterwards.

And to top it off the display looks really bling too

;-)

Cheers

Megasquirt supports both techedge and innovate (and a few others) natively. Just set the right line in the ini files and off it goes.

This is the Software I used to tweak the map.

Seems to work really well.
