Right then you 'orrible lot  :D

I need a new mobile as my old Samsung is past its best. Currently I'm with Orange (and like the service) on an old Plan Ahead tariff that gives me 30 mins per month free for £15 then normal charge rate for extra calls.

I do need a new phone and Orange dont do 'upgrades' from this tariff, I dont use the phone that much, I dont need a camera phone, I do want a flip front, good battery life is important.

Any ideas or recommendations

Check out T-mobile.co.uk   they do some "relaxed plans" somewhere between monthly rental and pay as you go  :D

V happy with my samsung e700 in this dept. But you would have to put up with it having a camera.

I dont need a camera phone,

But Mr M - camera phones can be very useful  :D  :D  :D  ;)  ;)      :D  ;)

Always had Nokia phones myself - found em very good - Personally I wouldn't buy a flip phone - too much to break and go wrong
