DickieB Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Click Here Item no is N20BB Reduced from £49.99 to £29.99. Yes I know you should take temperatures inside the tyre not on its surface, but hey, we can't all afford proper probes that seem to start in excess of £100. And anyway, most of us do not need to know the exact temperature, merely the differences between inside, centre and outside. And no, I'm not on a commission (well not that sort anyway ) Quote
adhawkins Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Good aren't they, we had my new one at Llandow Andy Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 I use on of these for measuring the engine temperature on my Traxxas Revo Nitro car. Price is in greenbacks from the good old USA Infared Thermometer Barry Quote
DickieB Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 Interesting. When aimed at the shiny chrome kettle, it reads about 27'C despite the water inside boiling! Pour boiling water into mug and measure the water, and the water is close to boiling. Kettle remains around 27'C. Fascinating. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Well Dickie, mine arrived this morning. It looks OK apart from the crappy case thing that it goes inside. Im sure it will do for tyres. I'd be happier knowing how to get rid of the "hold" function so that taking speedy consecutive readings is a little easier. Still a good find at a bargain price. Work are now thinking of getting some for checking the chilled goods that we send out. John Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Maplins ad:The temperature appears on the screen and can be held by releasing the trigger, or by keeping the trigger pulled you can scan an area for hot or cold spots. Edited at 1820hrs to say I bought one from maplins at Slough earlier today - dead on arrival Took it back, no hassle, swapped it - OK Bought a digital vernier caliper too - £14 brilliant! Quote
