steve_m Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 What are they like ? Are they as slow as people say ? Can you live in one for a few weeks ? What sort of mpg and cruising speed ? Are they really noisey on the motorway ? Can you drive over the Alps in one, reliably ? Lots of questions, any comments ? Quote
wookie Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 what age of bus?, i had a good T25 which was well alright and liveable for a few weeks, the bay window types are v.slow, but good fun Quote
steve_m Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 I was looking at the Bay window style but the T25's look far more practical. Even seen a few split screen vans but they really must be slow. At oleast the T25 ca be had with a diesel engine Quote
highwayman Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 T25's have much more room too and are cheaper to buy as Type 2s are going up in price all the time a couple of years back you could buy a half decent one fro £2K now they're at least £4K. Bays have to have quite a few mods to get them to cruise on the motorway at a decent speed Quote
wookie Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 get a t25 caravelle, the middle seats slide out, to leave a huge loading bay, nice bed area! and the rest of the room for camping gear, stove etc. as a proper camper will cost you a packet, plus u can use it as a van as well. Or convert it yourself to a camper. down hill it used to do 90-95, and plodded along all day at 70 on the motorway, wasn't a gas guzzler either. 1.9 watercooled. make sure the heater works well tho as loads of space to heat up in the winter.
