What are they like ?  Are they as slow as people say ?  Can you live in one for a few weeks ?  What sort of mpg and cruising speed ?  Are they really noisey on the motorway ?  Can you drive over the Alps in one, reliably ?

Lots of questions, any comments ?  :D

I was looking at the Bay window style but the T25's look far more practical.  Even seen a few split screen vans but they really must be slow.  At oleast the T25 ca be had with a diesel engine  :D

T25's have much more room too and are cheaper to buy as Type 2s are going up in price all the time a couple of years back you could buy a half decent one fro £2K now they're at least £4K. Bays have to have quite a few mods to get them to cruise on the motorway at a decent speed

get a t25 caravelle, the middle seats slide out, to leave a huge loading bay, nice bed area! and the rest of the room for camping gear, stove etc. as a proper camper will cost you a packet, plus u can use it as a van as well.

Or convert it yourself to a camper.

down hill it used to do 90-95, and plodded along all day at 70 on the motorway, wasn't a gas guzzler either. 1.9 watercooled.

make sure the heater works well tho as loads of space to heat up in the winter.
