Blatman Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Mondeo Diesel. You should be able to get quite a decent one with 3K. Certainly the Mk2 shape, and it'll have air con and be plenty comfortable for the inlaws. The Focus (if you can find a nice one for 3K) may well be a little small and fiddly to get in and out for the more elderly user... IMHO of course... Quote
oldman Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Done 120000 in me Focus Estate.Cheap to run, handles well, briskish, lots of room and given me no bother apart from the odd bump or two.......exremely boring but thats life for you.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Quote

Mark Stanton Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 to get in and out for the more elderly user... bites lip Quote
dac3774 Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 306 Dturbo. It might be a pug, but I had one for two years, clocked up 66k miles and had no bother other than servicing and rear suspension bushes. You should be able to get a reasonable one for 3k. Just make sure the fan cuts in when it gets warm, as this is a common fault, it has a service history and the cam belt has been changed at 66k (pug recommend 72K). Quote
Martin Keene Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 You answer your own question, a Focus diesel can't be beaten... Quote

Long shot this.........But got to be very cheap so worth a look.....Rover 25/45. Seriously, got to be really cheap second hand and going to be reliable, as there is no horror stories conected to them, just plain dull I guess. Quote
