SteveRST Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Anyone got a spare? piston for 2.1 pinto..... My piston has been beaten by a rogue valve and it's cracked and I think it has had enough. I need a: 20HC 18755 +2.25 mm Well thats what was in it. Think that that makes it 93mm piston. Open to all advice. cheers, steve
wookie Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 the 2.1, uses a std ford V6 Piston (capri etc). i've got a spare block if you wanted it, std, using it as an anchor at the moment
SteveRST Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Hi Wookie, Yep, I think it is the same size as standard V6 (2.8?) piston. The pistons in it at the moment do seem to be 2.0 oversize pistons though (stamped 20HC). Made by KE I think. So I did think it would be better to try and get an exact replacement. I am thinking that the V6 piston (stamped 28HC) might be a different weight to the pistons already fitted, and therefore that might unbalance the whole engine if fitting one. I may be totally wrong though. If nothing turns up I'll get the V6 one and see what happens. I am not in a hurry with this engine now. Karl (from this board) kindly gave me a replacement 2.0 pinto over the weekend, so I'll be getting that in soon and then take my time getting the old one built up and looking out for a decent head & cam for it and hopefully making another working engine. So cheers for the offer for another block, but I am alright now. Cheers, steve
S8ight Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 it isnt the same as the V6 piston. the V6 has a shorter skirt, although someone did do a conversion so they could be used, but only in sets
