Barry Ashcroft Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Camcorder Mounts Am looking at the SUPERCLAMP with DOUBLE BALL TILT HEAD Any thoughts. Seems cheaper than a new camcorder and bullet cam Barry Quote
gee_fin Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I've now given up mounting video cameras, six repairs in three years to my Sony which was meant to be top of the line. Given that a decent mount is ~£80 and a hi-res bullet cam is ~£120 I'm getting a Pelcan case, a LAN-C remote and shoving the whole lot in the boot. Just not worth the risk with the vibration on the cars. Quote
langy Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Bite the bullet and get a bullet camera from RF Concepts, great tools Quote

gadrego Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 I've got one of the superclamps and I bought it from that company. Works well but it does leave the camera rather exposed. Don't think I'd use it again unless I had a hood up. Bullet cams are the way to go. Quote
studbuckle Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Barry, If you're stuck on using a roll bar mount for your camera I have one you can have for good money. My camera was a bit heavy (It's Digital8 non MiniDV) and after a track day it had bent the casing from the g-forces. I would reccomend a bullet cam though but appreciate that if your vid-cam doesn't support AV in then you're into a whole new expense. Si Quote
