Paul B Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 At last my car has passed SVA today and I wasn't there to witness it. I'd had enough after the 3rd fail (1st test was in April). It's spent nearly 5 weeks at WF having the ECU reprogrammed by Webber techies. It's a Duratec engine. Also had the oil filter mounting modified so it doesn't puncture itself on the chassis. They are delivering it back to me later this week. Now to get it registered. Anyone got any experience of dealing with the Leeds DVLA office? Is an inspection required? Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Get a certificate of newness from the factory (if it is a new build) that is all the Bristol DVLA office wanted off me. No inspection either just money and ID Barry Quote
Hugh Bevington Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 I registerd mine at Leeds and found them really helpful, an inspection was demanded though. This was also the case for another guy who did a full module build and had a certificate of newness. I took mine to the centre for inspection, he had his done at home. Mine was quickest but you need to ring Swansea and ask the local office to ring you to make an appointment. And you thought getting the emmissions correct was a big job!!! ps whereabouts in Leeds are you havent seen a duratec car yet. Hugh Quote
Paul B Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 I'm based in Huddersfield just off the M62. Did you take your paperwork to the DVLA office in Leeds? Is it legal to drive the car there or did you trailer it? Surely it can't take longer than the 4 months to pass SVA!!! Quote
