StrikerBob Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Was having a great time - cracking first race - some brilliant close racing - particularly with Johnny W-T. 2nd race was going great as well - good battling - until my talent was overtaken by my stupidity........... Was far too optimistic on the brakes at the hairpin and had a major impact with Matthew Lewis in his Razor. Rode up on top of his car - got airborne - the lot. Car's completely fecked.. and Matthew has a lot of damage too. Soo annoyed with myself - it was a STUPID bl**** error.... totally my fault.... Sitting at home licking my wounds - my ribs are KILLING me... Gotta get saving now to repair it (although on the way home, I was ready for packing it all in, thinking I'm not cut out for it - but I think I just need to curb my aggression a bit - although that's a key part of my make up as a driver........) Consequently, I didn't really see how everyone else got on. Can someone fill me in? Quote
Bananaman Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Can someone fill me in? Sounds like a job for Matthew Lewis Hope the damage aint THAT bad & glad that your OK apart from the ribs..... Steve Robbo said that Jamie got a 5th & 6th Not sure about JWT & the playskool boys... Quote
DickieB Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 StrikerBob - I watched the first kits race only. Are you the one in the white Striker? Back in the Locosts, I got 10th and 10th from 17th and 13th on the grids, whilst Nick Lear got 12th and 11th from 14th and 17th on the grids. The 2 session qualifying let Jamie, Nick and me down as the A session put oil all over the track. B times were much slower (1.5 secs slower for top B compared to A) but they did not alternate the grids as they normally do. So we were always fighting a losing battle. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 but I think I just need to curb my aggression a bit Watching the first kits race you were the only driver really sawing at your steering wheel going through right and left hander after the hatchetts hairpin most of the others did far less work than yourself very entertaining though Good Luck - hope you get it re-built and back together Quote
StrikerBob Posted July 12, 2005 Author Posted July 12, 2005 Aye! White Striker - that'll be me! I felt like I was having to work harder than everyone else, but with my limited experience, I'm not sure if it's cos the car wasn't working properly, or if I'm over driving it......... Probably a bit of both in reality. Was thoroughly enjoying myself until the shunt... Be next year before I'm out again, but that's motor racing I guess............ Think Dangerous got a 4th and a 5th and JWT struggled with gear selection probs - I know he was 9th in the first race. Quote
