GuyH Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Anyone doing the SDCC long course sprint at Curburough on Sunday ? Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 How did you get on? Were you the only 1700 car there? I was the only 1700 car there the week before and they amalgamted me into class 2B. Guess who won the class? The guy who came second overtook me on the motorway and didnt even wave. I dont think he was very happy with me. If they tried to amalgate you as well, I think their would have been a few words said. John Quote
GuyH Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Sorry for late reply, was away last week. We got on fine. There were a few WSCC Speed Series members there so we weren't as lonely as we feared. Fantastic day all round. The long course (double lap) is so much fun! It was good practise for later in the year when we turn up for our wscc round. Results are here Quote
Tomcat Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Guy - is your Striker the orange one? I was there that week in class 2b though - you and David did well - 1st and 2nd - not bad - the car looked to be going well! Jan Quote
GuyH Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Hello, you must be Jan Snape. Orange Striker, yup that's us! The car was going like a train! Managed 93 across the line, which means that we had grip coming out of Fradley hairpin! We were worried that the heat would make everything very slippy but in the end it was perfect. I see from the times you had some fun on your second practise lap... Quote
Tomcat Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 I am the very same! Yes I did - little bit of entertainment around Fradley - I was taking a very wide line round there to get out onto the straight better but I went in too hot and as a consequence oversteered but had no track to catch it on so had to let it spin out - I turned it into a donut halfway so at least the spectators had a laugh! What tyres are you running - List 1a I presume - I thought mine got a bit slippy later on. Dissapointed I didn't get into the 63s though - still chasing! Quote
davidgh Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 What tyres are you running - List 1a I presume - Jan List 1a -- Bridgestone Potenza RE720 We're a little limited for choice because we're on 14" wheels, but the 720s work well for us. edited to correct typo Quote
