Bananaman Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 What a car. I want one.... What's this DBRS9 £175,000.............Better get saving..... Quote
Blatman Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 What's this DBRS9 Thought you said you watched it? DBRS9 is a road going DBR9. Comes with a cage and carbon fibre body (and an ally roof). It'd be an excellent car for track days and trips to Le Mans, but at 180 grand, as Clarkson said, do you buy a car or a bungalow? Quote

Then the time would have been eligible. Quote

Blatman Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I thought he said you *could* race it. Can't see any reason why it wouldn't be street legal though... Quote
DickieB Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Buy a bungalow for £180K. No chance around here. Besides you can live in a car, you can't drive a house. Quote
steppenwolf Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Is it just me or is TG losing it's way a little? I really enjoy some of the laddishness but last night's episode seemed to have lost it's 'sparkle'. Quote
Blatman Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Yup. Last nights episode was not strong on substance at all... Maybe Clarksons hips are preventing him from pulling his weight... Quote
chrisbin Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Yup. Last nights episode was not strong on substance at all... Maybe Clarksons hips are preventing him from pulling his weight... I agree. Mind you last nights episode wasn't helped by their latest "race".......I mean it took up about 30 mins of the show (at a guess) and what was it about? Driving an SLR along the motorway until you're too tired to continue, how to get p******** on a ferry and then how to break 2 speedboats..... Well that was all relevant, wasn't it ? Quote
moomin Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Then the time would have been eligible they seem to have forgotten their rule that it must be able to easily get over a standard speed bump - or whatever it was they invented to exclude the XTR2 and Radical times. can't see some of the supercars they have had on recently meeting that rule (i.e. that Maserati thing based on an Enzo). just remember this each week, the XTR2 cost ~£25k and did 1m19s, the Radical cost ~£35k and did 1m15s. I'd guess an XTR4 would be somewhere inbetween. did they time the supercharged Atom? I can't remember. edited to add: would also be interesting to see the Sport2000S and/or Cateringvan CSR260 have a go... don't want to upset those mainstream manufacturers though do we. moomin Quote

Timing the racing version, then saying that the time was ineligible, then saying "but this one would be ok"......so why didn't they use it!!!!!! Aahh well, who cares!! Quote
slippy Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I have to agree that TG is becoming a bit of a Clarkson appreciation fest but the noise of that DB9 was something special even lass was impressed Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Yup. Last nights episode was not strong on substance at all... Maybe Clarksons hips are preventing him from pulling his weight... Its like anything tho' you have good ones and sometimes you have poor ones. I only saw the last 25 mins or so as I'd bin out in the westy, I couldn't comment on the sart of the show, enjoyed the DBR9 bit though Buzz Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 noise of that DB9 was something special What about the start of the grand prix when the pace car pulled away from the start of the grid. I had to rewind the sky + for another go Barry Quote
