Hi  Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent chrome replating service in the west midlands. Its for 4 wire wheels

 Cheers Tom ???  :t-up:

Isn't there a good technical reason for NOT plating wire wheels? Something to do with oxygen embrittlement IIRC ???

This is not a cheap thing to get done, first the wheels have to have each spoke removed then the rim and the spokes polished copper plated, then depending on how good a finish you want, polish recoat until a level surface then apply the chrome. Reassemble the spokes hub and rim and true up.

We used to use a guy in Stratford on avon Ken Perks, and sometimes one in Coventry, cannot remember their names but I could find them if you are serious.

From memory we used to have vintage radiators done and the cost would be around £500 and wire wheels were more than that. Motor wheel service are a good starting point as you may find a new set might be not that much more expensive. If a plater says they can do a job on assembled wheels walk away as the chrome can only last on a well prepared surface.
