cameronke Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Hello all! Just put my Westie back on the road after a break of a couple of years last weekend. I am sure you know the effect it has at first on you! An extra 1000rpm in each gear to just revel in the howl of the crossflow, "Brisk" acceleration away from light etc etc etc Anyway If that was from a wee chav in his Vauxhall Nova there would be all round "tut tutting" and "why dont the police do something" but from a 40+ in his cute wee car it gets a completely different response! Little old ladies get all flirty! Kids faces light up and yell with glee. I stopped off and when I came back out there was a group of about six 60+ ladies (looked like from the local womens guild) had stopped to look and were actively encouraging me to "give it a bit of zoom sonny"! Coming up to a contra flow, hoping to get in, everyone wants the cute car in front of them so they can get a look. Has anyone else noticed these phenomenon? (I dont drive like an idiot but she doe bring out the "spirited" side in me) Regards Cameron Quote
karlgurney Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 The response you get is ace. I could have slapped this little kid yesterday, he was being all cocky and telling his mates he knew what kind of car it was, a tiger he said, insolent little s**t he was lucky i was strapped in and the lights had just changed to green Quote

JonnyBoy Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 i got asked by some chav in a pimped out astra van if it was a robin hood as h ewas building one... 'no mate' i chuckled as i casually left him sat there in confusion Quote
JonnyBoy Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 oh yes... i think you'll find that the reaction is best from the ages 0-15 and 50-80 for some reason it has absolutely no worthwhile effect on the 18-25 year old clean attractive virginal yet clearly frisky young ladies that I assumed it would when spending all those thousands putting it together! I did mean to speak to westfield about this shortcoming in the car.. but i havent had time as i've had to spend considerable hours 'buffing it up' due to the aforesaid problems Quote
oldman Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Noddy has got a lot to answer for.AND MR PLOD .AND THAT with big ears Quote

Not many around these days by the time 18 comes I would have thought Quote
boris Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 for some reason it has absolutely no worthwhile effect on the 18-25 year old clean attractive virginal yet clearly frisky young ladies oh yes it does .................................but i think it helps being in that particular age group edit: after a quick read of your profile i think i may have to change my statement to 'but i think it helps living in milton keynes where there is an over-abundance of cars that have crashed into a halfrauds shop' Quote
Peter Cox Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 .. but i havent had time as i've had to spend considerable hours 'buffing it up' due to the aforesaid problems you mean the car, don't you? Quote
a4drk Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 Get yourself a Bike engine next.... I have a Megablade, the bit i love is going down the Sequential box & blipping the throttle a little in each gear... The looks you get, especially of a group of bikers at the side of the road having a rest.... Quote
busapower2001 Posted June 22, 2005 Posted June 22, 2005 A4Drk - Yep I noticed that too with resting Bikers . Many moons ago a friend had just bought a Westfield16VXE and took me out for a blat in it, after which I was hooked on the Westfield experience. Anyway we were driving along through a town with the exhaust occasionally popping and banging nicely. This little toddler and his mum see us approaching and the kids look went from fascination, to confusion to crying, to finally gripping his mums leg! I will never forget that kids expression... it was just sooooo funny Westie's - Put the fear into little un's! Quote
Mat Jackson Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Was in the pub last weekend (beer garden) and watched a small 2 yr old get more and more fascinated by the car. After a couple of minutes he climbed himself in there and sat in the drivers seat making brumming noises!!!! Very funny... Didn`t mind him having fun as he wasn`t doing any harm, but thought it a bit odd his parents (no-where to be seen for 10 minutes or so) were happy to let their 2 yr old play in a pub car park near a main road!!!!! felters Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 shortcoming in the car.. not sure Westfield can help with that one... Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Some kid tried climbing in ours at a show. He got a swift "get the f**k out of my car!" Discipline should be restored and the parents aint doing it. Quote
