pinto pete
i have an open 3.9 diff, it wines like at cat so i am changing it this weekend. i am replaceing it with a 3.6 lsd out of a 4x4. the 3.9 should be under warnty ? so when i get it back will it be better to refit it or keep the 3.6 lsd
Paul Ash
Take the lsd out of the 3.6 and put it in the 3.9. So you end up with a 3.9 LSD. This is all of course relavant to set up. i.e engine/g/box/wheels etc. and that they sre both 7" diffs. But 3.6 will give your more top end and less acceleration if 3.9 is what you normally run. pinto pete
the 3.6 is a 7" the 3.9 is a 7 1/2" will this make a diferance
stu999
Yep, you wont be able to use the 3.9 CWP in the 3.6. Also, to fit the 7" diff into a chassis that has had a 7.5" diff fitted, you will need a half inch spacer for the top mount, as well as a long stud, again for the top mount, as opposed to the two bolts that the 7.5 uses...
