Rob Marshall Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 After Scott's trailer being stolen I have insured my trailer with Stoneways, online, only to receive a letter this morning to say I need to provide them with an upto date receipt/valuation from a trailer dealer within 5 days. Where can I get it valued? anyone know of a trailer dealer in the Swindon area? The trailer is a PRG mini sport that I brought second hand. Quote
Blatman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Just done the same. I'm getting a price list from Brian James. That should be good enough. Stoneways said that I have 14 days from the proposal arriving to get them a cheque and either a copy of the receipt or a valuation. I will be sending a copy of the receipt and the Brian James price list when I get it. Can't see them arguing too much about it. They were very good on the phone... Quote
Bananaman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Have to say they dealt with my claim after the M62 incident very well, faxed me a claim form, when I faxed it back with quote(I could only get one as trailer is un towable as only had 3 wheels now) they asked for 2 quotes initally. They phoned me back within 30mins and gave me the OK. Quote

DickieB Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Mine's insured with Competition Car Insurance - only £50..... Quote
Blatman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 Proposal form was on the doormat when I got in from work. So far, so good Quote
Rob Marshall Posted June 13, 2005 Author Posted June 13, 2005 I emailed PRG to ask them about valuation, they have Emailed back with the following "The above trailer is a Mini Tech it`s five and a half years old, if in good condition its value is £650.00 to £750.00" I was little shocked at their valuation as when I brought it 12 months ago I could not find a good PRG/Brian James trailer for under £900 and mine has the optional high level tyre rack and jerry can storage. I know I could not replace it for £750 Not sure what to do next May try Competion Car Insurance. Quote
Blatman Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 In the event of a claim, and you being unable to find a suitable replacement within a reasonable time scale, surely they'd have to consider stumping up for a new one? It's not as if PRG's and Minno's are massively common second hand. I think I'll call them tomorrow for a chat... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 That's bl**** crazy Rob - There's no way you could get a replacement trailer equivalent to the one you have for £650 / £750 IMHO I was thinking of insuring mine - certainly won't be asking PRG for a valuation if thats all they value their own product at Quote
peterg Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 CCI have never asked me for a valuation other than to ask me what I want to insure it for all they ask is for a photo or two and the chassis number I've recently added a 4 year old PRG Supersport (14' x 6' bed with tyre rack) valued at £1500 and they charged me about £43 IIRC Quote
