neilwillis Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Twice in the past 48 hours people have managed to run themselves over with their own vehicles!!!! At the weekend a woman driving a 6mph steam roller ran herself down, losing a leg in the process. She aparently stalled it (How do you stall a steam roller?) and tried to place a chock behind the wheels, but failed to prevent it from rolling over her. Last night Brian (E17) Harvey managed to fall out of his Merc whilst reversing it round a corner, and run himself down. I hope they both make a speedy recovery of course. Nominees for Darwin awards - except of course they failed to remove themselves from the gene pool, so they don't quite qualify. Highly bizarre! Quote
Coxy Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Errr, I ran over my foot wheeling the Westy out of the garage, does that count?? Quote
KerryS Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I ran over my foot wheeling the Westy out of the garage, does that count?? I've done that twice, which is worrying 'cos it means I don't learn very quick, as it ain't been roadworthy that long. Fortunately it was just the end of my trainers not the actual foot bit Friend of our broke her leg when she was trapped between the car she'd just got out of and the house wall. Kerry S Quote
steve_m Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I rolled my Dax over my foot last year, didn't hurt, another BEC positive Quote
Martin Keene Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Last night Brian (E17) Harvey managed to fall out of his Merc whilst reversing it round a corner, and run himself down. Invloving a bell end like him, there was probably a large quantity of drugs involved... Quote
Frau Vesty Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Nominees for Darwin awards - except of course they failed to remove themselves from the gene pool, so they don't quite qualify. Highly bizarre! There is in fact a Darwinian category for such people - the Honourable Mentions - "The stupidity displayed by the participants in the following tales stops short of the ultimate sacrifice, but we salute their spirit and innovation."
