oioi Posted June 3, 2005 Share Posted June 3, 2005 Chris, told MK about the 5 speeder and he has your number so will contact you when he is ready to move on this apologies chris, not sure if im going to take the gearbox of your hands at the moment. im going to reattach the gearbox to the car and see if this makes the gear change any eaiser. same situation as you dont have tim or space to take engine out to put a new gear box in and dont have the cash to pay someone might just sorn the ****** thing Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
7SE Posted June 6, 2005 Share Posted June 6, 2005 Is there a site which will give a list of all the different ford 4 speed gearboxes and their gear ratios Yes it's here and this program will contain lots of ratios and allow you to predict revs in gear. I put a 5-speed into a pre-lit, it does require some welding. A new g/box mounting plate on the bottom of the tunnel. You can also fit the W/f remote shift which brings the gear lever back to a sensible place; this requires cutting out a tube on the top tunnel and replacing it with a piece of plate, or two.
