Thought I'd post an update following my recent run in with a white van man :bangshead:

(see previous thread "crashed Westy"

Finally finished the haggling with the insurance co and have reached a settlement last Friday and got official autorization to start repairs today :D

Looks like the car will live again, I have been contracted to repair my own car, which means I get to keep my recently installed VX on TB's etc to swap into a new chassis.

I also get to build it the way I want to, and not how a repairer wants to do it.

Footman James have been superb as have the Insurance Co and the vehicle inspector (considering this was his 1st Westfield!;) He was helpfull, and understood my reluctance to scrap the car and lose all the monies & time spent on the VX install. I guess knowing that I was run off the road helped in that cause somewhat.

And just to make my day it looks like the police have started to do something following several phone calls, they have finally issued some paperwork to the guy that failed to stop :t-up:

Just to finish my good day I ordered the new chassis and body etc.

Richard Smith at the factory has also been incredibly helpfull

especially as I have had to phone several times to get the very long list of bits worked out.

So if anyone wants some narrow body bits checkout parts for sale as anything that wont fit the new chassis is up for grabs.

Ditto Paul At least you'll get a bit of summer use out of it before the dark days return. The great thingabout Rich Smith @ Westfield is he's dead helpful and get things rolling...I guess  thats why he's the chief!!

I'm down at the factory today to collect me valance and a few bits
