tankerman24 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 I found Sureterm direct great. £ 124 fully comp for me and the other half. Quote
pistonbroke Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 All these quotes for insurance dont really prove much. How can you compare a quote unless the terms and conditions are similar ? It is pointless unless you state the mileage and any excess figure in the schedule etc. post code can make a big difference to the cost . Most companies will trade price against mileage and excess . and is the car garaged or left in the middle of a field at night ? Don't forget these are all Brokers acting for the underwriter. IMO the cost's are all computer generated these days and the price is determined mostly by the brokers "mark up" my 2p worth for what its worth Quote
Alan Hutton Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 Try Osborne and Sons Sutton, Surrey. They specialise in kit cars only. Got mine £162 per year fully comp and no no-claims ( they accepted full no claim on other vehicle) 5000 miles per year. Telephone 0208388600 Quote
Scottish Bloke Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 Thanks All. I take your points on board. I'm just surprised that when you get a quote and give exactly the same details to each insurer, the huge variations in cost. I only do around 3000 road miles and have never made any claims so you would think i'm a safe bet, so it's surprising when you speak to insurance co's who have sent you there literature claiming to be the cheapest around, like for like it's just not the case. a4gom Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 I found Sureterm the cheapest for me, think I may have underestimeted my mileage though, started it in december with a 3000 limit, I've done over a 1000 now and the sun hasn't come out yet! P.s. Sure term knocked over £100 off to beat a qoute and get my business, so don't think its a waste of time getting qoutes off everyone, even those you wouldn't actually go with! Quote
Paul Ash Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Footman James - Everytime I'm just testing there service which so far has been excellent in dealing with the recent crash They are helpfull friendly and efficient! You gets what you pay for in my book. @ £168 with a £100 excess 3000 mile policy on a 1990 SE with a 2.0lt VX The best bit FJ did not up the premium when I changed to VX from a X-flow. (quote " No sir we do not up the premium until you fit a Cosworth") I dont see sureterm doing it for nowt!!! I used to use Sureterm, but found as Upgraditis set in they were very good a charging you for "everything" I seem to recall changing my home address costing me £30. Oh and in that £168 is also uninsured losses etc. Quote
scruffythefirst Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 No sir we do not up the premium until you fit a Cosworth Crap Quote
