JeffC Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 taxed tested and on the road from today!!!! after mass confusion over the paint i originally ordered to paint the car, It ended up getting painted a special effect grey-green-violet flip. not what i was after as i wanted a silver/green but happy with the results , if nowt else it saves changing the colour on logbook, as was originally black, and at some angles it looks metalic black. l before painting new look. wot ya reckon Quote

Nothing wrong with asking for opinions, as long as you are prepared bad, as well as good comments. IMHO that looks the dogs nads. But I also think the wheels as they *really* do add to the effect, and it would be a shame to change them. Just my opinion... Quote
JonnyBoy Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 i like the green... alot whats a ball park figure on the paint job - all in?? Quote
JeffC Posted May 20, 2005 Author Posted May 20, 2005 i like the green... alot whats a ball park figure on the paint job - all in?? not at all as expensive as you would imagine... cheap if you went for a normal colour. the fancier colours are what hack the prices up.. 1/2 litre of base black for the ground coat.. £13 1 litre of spec effect basecoat £220.... scary as normal metalic basecoat is £25 per litre adhesion promoter and elastic addative for the clearcoat £20. 1 litre of clear/hardner/thinners etc. £50 for decent stuff. all above 2 pack paint. booth hire was £50 for the afternoon. painted and prepped it myself so labour was free!! only down side as i learned from the last one i painted is stonechips on the rear arches, painted as apposed to gel finished bodywork isnt as hard wearing but not the end of the world to blow the arches in twice a year rest of the body seems to wear well...
