Wanted to post this video of me going up Shelsley last weekend as I hope it will provide amusement.

Knowing Barney was a second ahead of me, I thought I could probably make it up with some late braking and a bit of red mist came into play.  Shame really as I was going a second quicker at the first trap anyway!

Ouch.

Never been to Shelsley but I was expecting more of a Loton Park style of hill really

Amazing what a moment like that can do for your concentration.  I missed the gear and thought, who gives a crap? Haven't missed a gear in recent memory on or off the track.  I will change avatar back to static picture- it is a bit greedy.

Have you checked the front wishbones after 'brushing' the bank ?

I've "looked" at them and they seem straight.  About as far as I've gone.  Car drives the same- long journey home was ok.  So glad I missed the tyres, that would have hurt the car.  Seem to have lifted brake at right time to get turn in, couldn't have planned it better.

couldn't have planned it better.

Yeah. Getting the turn right would have been silly :p

Taxi. One that can corner please... :D

How did you get the timer in the box on the left ? I too was videoing into a very small solid state box that gives resonable  quality. Interesting to compare the 2 runs :D  missed the bank though.

Cheers

Added timer myself in post production.  Take the actual time recorded, que up a timer fucntion in my software for that amount and lay it over the top backwards from the finish. I recorded straight onto dv tape in the end as the solid state box I had ran out of batteries before the first practice!  Not a missed beat on the tape which is amazing.  Rubber damping in the form of land rover radiator hoses sorted that out.

Got friends to video on all the bends so have a full external and internal montage here.  Great analysis tool, although the only thing I took away from Shelsley was don't change to new tyres and suspension all round just before an event!  Tried to go and stop as fast as normal to my detriment.

Nick, were you in the supercharged vx?

Nick's car is a supercharged Busa I believe. Or maybe blade.

BEC anyway :)
