steppenwolf Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 I need to store a logo on a secure server (HTTPS). Does anyone know where I can do this preferably free of charge but if not free, at low cost? Quote
steppenwolf Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 I have a PayPal on line 'shopping basket' system for my wife's part time company and I want to customise the payment screen so that it is a closer match to her own web site. If I use a non-secure server then I.E. ( and probably other browsers ) will keep on popping up warning messages along the lines of ' this site has both secure and insecure data - do you wish to display the insecure data?'. This is no good at all as it will happen as each item is added to the shopping basket. According to PayPal, this will not happen if I store the logo on an HTTPS server. Quote
studbuckle Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Are you sure? You're right about the warning but will you not get equal warnings if the logo is on a diffrerent https certificate as it wont be linked to the domain of the page being viewed. I dont know the answer and if you want to give it a go then i'll host it for you on one of our domain servers. Si Quote
adhawkins Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Nope, sorry, don't do SSL (at the moment). Andy Quote

Si, I don't know either! I can see that the message may still appear as the server is different but maybe it will be happy that both servers are secure? I'd be happy to try it if you don't mind. You have P.M. Quote
studbuckle Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 You have P.M. er, no i dont.... mail me the logo sdh@kingfieldheath.com Quote
steppenwolf Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 You nearly did but the 'phone rang write in the middle of composing it, then I got notification of your last post! Logo on it's way to you at your email address as I write this! Quote
Blatman Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 the 'phone rang write in the middle of composing it Gotcha! Nice play on words though. It could almost have been deliberate Quote
steppenwolf Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Now, I could lie but then .... nope, just have to accept that I have indeed made an excellent error I've got lots of excuses though, do you want to hear any of them? Nope, thought not. Quote
BIG G Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 I have customised my PayPal payment page, in the manner that you suggest, with my own logo etc, and I can confirm that the 'none secure site' warning will not be displayed if you store your header logo on a secure server.... AutoArt Gary Quote
steppenwolf Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Gary, Thanks for confirming this information. I now have the logo stored on a secure website and all is working well ( to the best of my knowledge - I have yet to receive an order but then it has only been live for a few hours! ). Nice website by the way. Quote
