Soon after buying mine the bonnet flew off (the over centre latches were not fitted too well), was doing about 40-50, saw the slow motion somersault of the bonnet over my head then saw it land in the rear view mirrow.

I'd just about stopped by now when i saw it sliding its way toward me from behind, had to accelerate forward to stop being hit from behind by my own bonnet  :D

Would have made an interesting insurance claim if it had done damage to the rear bodywork.

Nearly lost the nose cone once :0:0 - when I lost the Dzus fastner underneath - it tilted up, but held on the other fastners :)

Yes, but I saw it lifting and 'got away with it'

Cadwell Park, several years ago, on the out lap, 2 up with Blatgirl. I was just slotting 3rd and building up the pace along the start finish straight when I got an eyeful of the right hand side of the bonnet. The left hand side catches were done up just fine... :bangshead::durr:

So, at the moment, 40% have had that uplifting experience :D

Of course, there is no time element to this; so it is going to be hard to say how many will get launched over the course of 4 days.  But with 50 cars, there's bound to be one :0

i think you might have cursed us all now!  funniest one i saw on haggis2 was when a car pulled into the services but the spare wheel carried on :-)

Local road, the bonnet rotated at about 75.

Luckily, I got to test drive my passengers* Scooby before we set off with the bonnet catches undone and the local council have grown a bonnet catching hedge just where they expected mine to land.

*Come to mention it, I never saw him again  ???

been out a few times with the bonnet catches undone.. but i dont think its a problem with locking type latches (i.e. the flat key lock with front lugs) unless anyone can say different

Well mine came off the side and under my rear wheels! So I vote over my head in light of no other suitable option :D

I hadn't considered that!

Off this morning to Toonland, staging post for hunting Haggis :D:D:D

Mine wobbled a bit... then caught some air  (enough to see into the engine bay).

I slammed the anchors on and it came back down to rest just over the lip of my nose-cone.  Scary but, funny... once I'd stopped. :D
