Possible fatal at the weekend nr Keighley

Talking to chap in the pub last night who's son is a Fireman, He told me that Keighley Fire Brigade were called out to a RTA somewhere on the Aire valley trunk road at the weekend, special accident equipment vehicle was also called out from Bradford.

He was called from his station to cover the Keighley Station while they were out.

On there return they told him there was a V8 Westie involved, side impact! and the girl in the passenger seat was in a potentially fatal condition..

Anyone heard anything?

Stewart dropped me off for hen night in Keighley on Saturday night (scary place for night out) and went onto his mates in Skipton.  He said road was shut when coming back about midnight.  Now I was still hungover / drunk when he told me which bit of road, but he did say he had to come back on old road (through Utley etc) cos the bypass between Keighley and Steeton/Silsden roundabout was shut.

Not heard anything else though.  Hope everyone is OK!!!

Only thing on the fire service log for that period is below.... but midnight? not a normal time for westy driving and the area's nowhere close

Styebank Lane, Rothwell, Leeds

Road Traffic Collision involving 1 vehicle. 1 person was trapped and was extricated by Fire Service Personnel. They were then transported to Pinderfields Hospital by ambulance.

Appliances from Rothwell, Garforth & Hunslet attended incident

Hi Emma, sounds likely that it was the same accident.

If I see the next door neighbour tonight i'll see if he can find out anything he's an ex traffic Pc and his daughter has now joined up so she may be able to get access to some info.

Pretty sure it wasn't a fatal, I have just checked with the lads in the traffic dept, we get notification of all RTA fatals usually within 48 hours so that side of it looks positive.

Like you say a funny time to be out in a westie so fingers crossed that he was miss informed.

Someone mentioned to me that there had been a 7 type car involved in a crash on the Main A650 out of Keighley at the weekend. Don't know any more than that.

According to our local paper an eight year old girl was injured in an accident involving a Westfield V8 and two other vehicles. The road was closed for an hour.

Hope she's OK!!
