Buzz Billsberry Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Just 2 say a big thanks 2 Paul Aspden @ Plays-kool Motorsport for been a decent chap and loaning me his trailer to collect my car from Croft, after what I can only describe as the most expensive 3/4 of a lap I've ever done @ Croft .I reckon on £1 a second. Still I did manage 2 entertian the crowd from 'Sunny' onwards, when my stead changed into one of the Red Arrows display team after the head gasket said well f--k this, this feels like 2 much effort so early on a bank holiday monday morning and decided 2 leave a 700 yard vapour trail!!. I was very disappointed after walking the track @ 21:30 on the night before acompanied by Mr Stella. but it did look a tad different in the day light. I could'nt even see the beer cans I'd left on the apex of the corners.!! Still enjoyed it tho' ..**** happens.. looking forward to Scammonden plus its Red Robo's (the man behind Flying pig Motorsport) birthday. I hear he's just turned 45! (Didn't think he was that old!.. brownie points 2 me then Steve!) so it should be a good nite in the hills of West Yorkshire were sheep are scared and southerners fear 2 tread!! Once again big thanks 2 Paul(Steve Berry) Aspden Buzz PS If U have ever wondered what Royston Vasey looks like come 2 Scammonden as Huddersfield is just down the road!.Don't worry tho' your far enough away not to get a nose bleed Quote
ricdiggle Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 Wasn't the League of Gentlemen filmed in Hatfield? Just up from Doncaster. Did you know: Royston Vasey is Roy ' Chubby ' Brown's real name. He of course played the mayor of the town. Very interesting that! Or did you mean that Huddersfield is like Royston Vasey? I can only agree as I went to school at Huddersfield New College. That was interesting too wasn't it? Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 i live 5mins from hatfield and i dont think it was filmd there. Quote
chazpowerslide Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 What is it about Mr Stella ? Things never seem the same in the morning............ I to can never all of the empites either Quote
ricdiggle Posted April 5, 2002 Posted April 5, 2002 I must beg your collective pardons. It was filmed in Hadfield, a village near Glossop in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, England. The local shop is half way between Marsdon and Huddersfield though. Quite weird - I actually was local! Anyway, enough of this - you're my wife now! Wanna buy some pegs? Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted April 6, 2002 Author Posted April 6, 2002 Mr Stella is only in your head!!! Buzz Quote
chazpowerslide Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 Ahhhhhh. But how does he get there from my stomach? Quote
I.S.M Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 Back to the original point made by pete, i would also like to express my thanks to paul, who came to my rescue on the M66 just outside manchester, when my trusty f*****g vauxhall nova packed up. This was on a sunday, so i feel really guilty, i would have rung dad buts hes in the Gambia living it up whilst i was at the side of the motorway. Again a big thianks to Paul at Plays kool (and the boys, for there p*** taking) Cheers Quote
gee_fin Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 I can't recount how many times Paul has helped me out with advice on the phone. Always spot on with excellent advice and solutions to problems. With people like Paul and Plays-Kool around it makes Westfielding life that little bit sunnier. Graeme. Quote
