Richgm Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 How much do you want to spend and what do you want it for? I have an LG L1710B LCD screen. Does everything I want it to. Quote
zoso Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Im currently sat staring at my mothers Philps 170T Widescreen and has a tele built in... it's very nice... dunno how much it was though. Quote
Nick A Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 would like 17 inch screen same a current screen and was looking to spend £200 - £250 not bothered about having a tv in it Quote
adhawkins Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 A decent 17" CRT shouldn't cost much more than 100 or 150 quid these days I wouldn't have thought. Andy Quote

Enterpryse Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 2 LG Flatron L1715S in dual screen mode keep me very happy and were a good buy from Ebuyer with 3 yr on site warrenty. Now I want to fnd out if I can use 3 monitors and use a 19" as centre with the 2 17's on each side. Bit extravagant though. Quote
KerryS Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Nick So you never got to PC World then? My Mother's tv was doing something similar a few years ago and, being a mechanical engineer, I took the back off the thing, looked inside trying to look clever, pulled off all the multipin conectors I could see, put them back again, and bingo! Problems went away...for a year or so anyway!! Maybe worth a try. I mean as a competent V***o technician this should be within your abilities........ Kerry S Quote
KerryS Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 PS a 17" tft screen has about same viewable area as a 19" crt Kerry S Quote
Nick A Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 Hi Kerry have thought about taking the back off and having a poke about but the monitor is getting on a bit about 3 1/2 years old and had a lot of use so won't last a lot longer anyway and felt like an upgrade, No never got to PC world may pop over one night for a look if i can find the time but cheaper on the net Just thought i would ask on here to try and get a little information so i know what i am looking for How that car coming along ? must almost be ready for the road Quote
Rick S Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 LG L1715S gets my vote too. Absolutely brilliant monitor. PCWorld do the 15" for 99.99 inc vat too, which is vvv cheap as Ebuyer have it for 117 ish Quote
Coxy Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Just bought an LG 1715s for my father in law from E buyer. Looks great and cant knock it for the money. Quote
