annoying me daft

on boot up I get message that system.ini cant find some files which refer to an application ?

the files are

vredir.vxd

dfs.vxd

I assume these are device drivers but dont know what or where , something I deleted ? leftover files?

Then when the desk top comes another message

unable to load dll  msnp32.dll

Pewter seems to work ok just that it annoys having to go through the error process on each boot

any ideas apart from using the drastic drop test ?

TIA  :)

Usual thing , don't have a clue what I'm doing and made a pigs ear of the job  :p

confused by fitting a cd rom read /write thingy (that wont work ever again) and also have used a virus (trojan ) scanner (apparently I was being hijacked ) thought that might have been the culprit

I'll have a go at the problem as soon as I feel brave enough
