geelhoed Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Airbus is going to make so much money with this one! Quote
sir camel toe Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 the old ones where big and i mean big ive worked on one.that pic makes it look smaller than it really is. Quote
Boxerman33 Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 It's bigger than big, it ****** enormous. I work with Airbus on the wings and you just can't believe how big it is. Tailspan on this is bigger than the wingspan on a A320 or Boeing 737 Quote
steve wilson Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I think its meant to be the first flight today. Quote
Blatman Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 When's the maiden flight? I mean one the public can watch in the UK, not a test flight... Quote
adhawkins Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 When's the maiden flight? I mean one the public can watch in the UK, not a test flight... Apparently it's next summer (2006) and it's Singapore Air, flying Singapore to LHR. Andy Quote
Blatman Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I thought there was a public demo/unveiling type thing going on, and quite soon. Off to Google... Quote
adhawkins Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Ah, possibly. The details I posted were it's first commercial flight. Andy Quote
Frau Vesty Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I seem to recall that it was going to appear at some kind of airshow soon (maybe the Paris show?) where technically it wasn't going to do a flight, but they did say that how else was it going to get there Quote
I.S.M Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I work with Airbus on the wings ...cool, was there on monday with uni having a loook around. The wing really is enourmous! 3m deflection as well. We were told the first flight was today! Quote
Frau Vesty Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Ja, it's in the air at the moment: clicky Quote
Robandcolin Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Its going to be at farnborough air show next year. My dad is organising the show. apparently its a nightmare as the outboard engines hang over the grass so the runway will have to be swept after it flies. It's going to do a proper display as well! I'll ask him about westfield club members discount! Rob Quote
I.S.M Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 now all they ve got to do is sell 150 to break even! Quote
