It's bigger than big, it ****** enormous. I work with Airbus on the wings and you just can't believe how big it is. Tailspan on this is bigger than the wingspan on a A320 or Boeing 737 :0  :0  :0

When's the maiden flight? I mean one the public can watch in the UK, not a test flight...

Apparently it's next summer (2006) and it's Singapore Air, flying Singapore to LHR.

I thought there was a public demo/unveiling type thing going on, and quite soon.

Off to Google...

Ah, possibly. The details I posted were it's first commercial flight.

I seem to recall that it was going to appear at some kind of airshow soon (maybe the Paris show?) where technically it wasn't going to do a flight, but they did say that how else was it going to get there  ???  ???  ???

...cool, was there on monday with uni having a loook around. The wing really is enourmous! 3m deflection as well.

We were told the first flight was today!

Its going to be at farnborough air show next year.

My dad is organising the show. apparently its a nightmare as the outboard engines hang over the grass so the runway will have to be swept after it flies.

It's going to do a proper display as well!

I'll ask him about westfield club members discount!  :t-up:
