Glen H Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Having had my sidescreens modified this week to eliminate a blind spot caused by the top trim, I thought it may be of interest to others, and allows me to show them off The original top trim landed right on my eye-line and caused a really bad blind spot, this is now totally gone and visibility is now soooo much better. jeff oakley Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 That looks excellant, where did you get it done and how much? Quote
Glen H Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 Thanks for the comments. I had the work done by a specialist, Auto Trim Ltd. Cost was £195.00, including cutting the aluminium frame, sewing up the cut trim, cutting out of the origional window, polycarbonate windows professionally cut (by another external company), polycarb window masked off and painted black where it overlaps the original door, countersinking the door-window fixing screws (supplied by them). Basically hte full works. Might not be the cheapest job, but they have done an excellent job and the additional visibilty is worth every penny, I can now see round R'H bends / junctions etc. Thinking of getting them covered in either a clear or tinted film to eleiminate any chance of the polycarbonate getting scratched, probably the clear as the main reason was to improve visibility, tinted will only be going backwards If enough are interested I could try to arrange a bulk deal / discount, let us know.
