TrevP Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I've only had my westy 9 months and three weeks ago some prat behind me decided that it needed remodelling and slammed into the back off it. I have now been informed by my insurance that its not viable for repair so they have written it off. the good news however, is that i had agreed value on the car for what i paid for it, so i've had 8000 miles free motoring and with more pennies in the bank can now get a better one. adhawkins Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Sorry to hear this, hope you find another car soon. Andy Quote
ROC Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Sorry to hear that Trev, at least the car and not you got the damage. That is a radical way to upgrade to a better car though Cheers, Rich. Quote
TrevP Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Whats happening to the remains of the car? From what the engineer said it will go to a salvage yard. which is a shame really cause although i didnt build it someone else did and all the time and effort they put in just to end up in a scrap yard. karlgurney Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Gutted at least your ok and your getting the what you paid for it, Have you asked the insurance if you can buy back the car? Maybe worth it! Karl Quote
TrevP Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 Have you asked the insurance if you can buy back the car? Maybe worth it! Yeah i did but they wanted 26% off the cars value which was about £2400 so decided not to bother as it was only a standard 1800 zetec on 40's. Quote
