Sorry to drag this one back up but Ive just been reading my house insurance policy and noticed it covers you for expenses whilst on jury service that arent recoverable through the usual means, and it reminded me of this thread. It might be worth looking into it if you cant get out of it

BUT, it's worth doing at least once     Quite an interesting experience.

I'd love to do it. My Mum's done it 3 times now and hates it... Me and my dad would consider paying to do it though. Life just ain't fair...

My wife has decided to go after talking to people at work (she works for the government) and my sons nursery. Looks like things may be sorted now, we'll see.
