langy Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 It's attached to the roll bar via an exhaust clamp and a bit of angle with the camera cable tied to the angle (i'll take a photograph later on). It isn't 'concealed' very well in its current position, but i'm looking at fixing it to the one of the front wishbones in the near future. Quote
studbuckle Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Looks good (apart from the gimp). From that far back you dont need a wider lens. You'll get good perspective and a focus point. I'd be tempted to move it up a notch so the bottom of the view is the join from bottom of screen to skuttle... unless you're trying to capture hand movements on the wheel. Quote
GuyH Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Sorry if it's a silly question, but does this bullet camera have to be plugged directly into your video camera to record images ? If not, what do you use as the recording mechanism ? Quote
studbuckle Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 yes it does. Your video camera needs to support AV in and you use the manual record feature to record images from the external bullet cam Quote
GuyH Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Thanks Simon. Think we will get one of these as well. Quote
langy Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 Think we will get one of these as well. From experience, they not easy to get. I have a Canon MV730i, its the 'i' thats important. I think some Sony's have the facility as well. If you have a look on the RF Concepts website, they will also sell you a portable recorder (Archos) or something along those lines. But a camcorder is probably going to be of more use. Quote
mrblondie Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 if you want a really great angle... us a little duct tape and stick the camera under the front nose or on the side of the nose low down so you can see the action of the front wheel as well .... creates a fantastic illusion of speed Quote
langy Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 As promised, picture of camera attached to roll bar These things are great fun, you can video yourself driving to get petrol, get home bore the other half senseless with a 15 minute video of you driving to get petrol, then download onto the laptop and make a movie and add a soundtrack of you getting petrol OK, so i haven't sussed out the movie making part yet.... I'll get me coat Quote
CocoPops Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 I ordered mine yesterday... I went for Pack 3, but when it turned up this morning it was pack 4 at "no extra cost" so thats good customer service (they obviously had no pack 3's in stock). Impressed so far. Quote
