Impney Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 MMmmmmm, Sounds like Tesco's latest ploy to improve on their £2bn profit! Quote
chazpowerslide Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 Errrr They now have 4 packs of 440ml Stella in the shelf. Bizzar Chaz. Quote
markcoopers Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 My Local Co-op does some excellent Wychward beers and Badger beers, why you complaining? Experiment lad, experiment Quote
markh1970 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Chaz, Why not get them from Tesco online. Then you can have them delivered to your door. Even better the 4 x 440ml are available. No need to even stop off. Could also get the groceries for Mrs Slide if you feel inclined. Mark Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Now then Stella is a subject I like to talk and here about. FYI The 440ml cans are to be with drawn and have been re-placed with 500ml and the re-introduction of 568ml and later in the year the 750ml can will be introduced. U should also check that you are drinking a genuine Stella. The way to make sure that u are drinking the genuine thing is to buy the merchandise that is brewed in the fatherland (Belgium) and not the rubbish that’s been brewed under licence in the UK by Interbrew UK Ltd in Luton and as we all know southern brewers can't brew alcohol 'cos its ****e Hence the genuine stuff brewed in the Fatherland is the finest. Most of the smaller off licences, mini markets etc generally get the genuine stuff in;well they do up 'ere int' norf. Unfortunately for all you people that buy Stella Arfake from the Super Markets are buying the impostor brew from Luton, if in doubt always buy Lowenbrau or 1664 to be on the safe side. SAFETY TIP:Always read the side of the Stella can this will inform you where it has been brewed. Now for chazpowerslide's dilemma I would recommend buying 2 x 1 litre bottles which are available thro' Asda and brewed in Belgium, ok you'll be drinking an extra 240ml but treat this as a bonus for being a valued customer of this fine brew. Don't fall into the trap as Mrs Frau suggested by" 'Simply' buy a 12 pack and when you get home, give 8 to your lovely wife, saying "eeyar love, hide these and don't give them to me tonight, even if I beg". Or put the other 8 outside and learn some self control" This I’m afraid will only lead to a whole heap of trouble with you ,your partner and morality 'Simply' & 'Self control' are two words that should not be associated with Stella Artois Buzz ALWAYS CHECK THE LABEL BEFORE PURCHASING Quote
markcoopers Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Buzz, not to question your almighty Stella Knowledge, but me Brother brews it and he works in Magor, Wales. He's a very nice bloke to know. Quote

markcoopers Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 But I get free beer, so might be biased here a bit, but it tastes pretty good to me Quote
CrashBangWallop Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Sod Mr Crash Bang Wallop! Mmmm Pedigree, wonderful taste!!!! Well, EXCUSE ME!!! I apologise for not having tried the finer ales in life. I'll admit to having a pint of London Pride on Friday. Not bad. However, when it all comes down to it... If there was only one drink I could ever choose... it would have to be a bottle o' dog* *Ever since my dad spilled a bottle over my bed after staggering in p*ssed from the match "Ere ye gan, sonna. Tek a swig o' that." [hic] It wasn't that bad, Chaz. A little warm, maybe... but, I can't grumble when it's free Quote
Lordbenny Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 If your gonna drink Belgian beer dont drink Stella it's crap. Buy some Duval or even better Leffe(Bruin). You wont go back unless of course you cant handle it. (Drink it by the half it's 8%). Available at most supermarkets & offies. Quote
