Blatman Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I would have said 3.5psi was too much. I run a 235bhp engine on 48's at 2.5psi. I reckon the popping and banging will reduce with less fuel pressure... Quote
Greenstreak-Andy D Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Whilst talking fuel pressures, i am running an XE on twin 45's with Alpha 3D and Westfield recommended 4 psi!! I have set mine to 3psi and all seems ok I was told this is best set up on rolling road and pressure should be set such that the engine isn't starved of fuel at full throttle, full load. Andy??? SteveF Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 The key is to make sure the pump you have can deliver sufficient fuel (rate) at 3 psi not to starve the carbs - otherwise it's lean out & meltdown time The crib chart below came from facet flow rate (UKgal/hr) 18 27 35 power (bhp) >150 >200 200+ No pump curves from them, but it'll give you an idea Steve Quote
