Gromit Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 To all of you who`ve expressed an interest i`m sorry to report that we`ve had to put makeing these tanks on hold for a short while as today when we pressured test the first trial run tank it turns out that the welds are porous in places. Until we get to the root cause of the problem we wont be able to accept any more jobs. I`ll keep you all informed when we get the problem solved and appologise for this deley. Thanks Phil
Major Stare Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 No probs. Let us/me know when your up and running again, you'll have an order from me.
Westfieldman Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 welds are porous in places. Until we get to the root cause of the problem If alloy Dirty perant material Poor quality argon sheild Air getting into the torch Ditry tungston Dirty pot on the tortch Tungston touch down when welding Loss of argon sheild when welding [someone opens the workshop door] Dirty filler rod Pre heating with a dirty heat sourse Not preheating Alloy welding is not that easy is it For stainless most of the above apply but not as much as you can get away with a bit more with stainless.
