Speedo Calibration

Just want to check my calculations.

What pulse figure did people use for speedo calibration for the following.

vdo speedo

7*15 wheels

192*50*15 avon zv1  tyres inflated to 20llbs/ft (1.4cf/m) as suggested in build manual.

My spec. is similar to yours apart from the tyre width ( mine are 205 ) however, my setting of 005400 will at least indicate if you are in the right ball park! This assumes that you are taking your pulse reading from the Lobro CV nuts and not elsewhere. If you are taking the pulse from somewhere else then you will need to tell us.

There was a recent tread on this by Flappa. I set mine this weekend - same wheel spec as yours 'cept I think I have ZV3 Avons.

Rolling radius 0.281m

Rolling circumference 1.77m

1609.344 metres/mile

Wheel revs per mile 909

If sensor off the Lobro bolt, pulses per mile 5455

If sensor off front disc bolts, pulses per mile 3637

I had a chart in the box of instruments that converted this number to the 0's and 1's of the DIP switch.

yes sensor is reading off the lobro bolts (not sure if I got tyre pressure units correct! it was late and hazy)

Don't forget to make it over-read by about 3% to keep the SVA chappies happy!
