Rob Navin Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I need a PS2 game that has as many current spec british tracks on as possible for the purpose of learning cuircuits. The tracks need to be as realistic as possible even if the game play is not great. Does anyone know what I should be looking for or have any recomendations ? Thanks in advance Rob Quote
Blatman Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Get TOCA 2 for yer Playstation/PC, and GP Legends (PC only, I think) for the Nurburgring And yes, Knockhill is on TOCA 2 Quote
Rob Navin Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 Get TOCA 2 for yer PC, and GP Legends for the Nurburgring Thanks for that Blatters great advice for a PC game with a no british track on it. Have you got any advice for this question I need a PS2 game that has as many current spec british tracks Quote
darthurs Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I second Blatman, but GT4 is also good for the Nurburgring (only on PS2). Dan Quote
Rob Navin Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 Dan Does GT4 cover many British club tracks as well ? Cheers Rob Quote
Rob Navin Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 Thanks Blatters Nice edit buy the way I don't need to learn Knockhill. I have seen every gravel trap there is up there and know all the lines not to take. I'm suprised there has been nothing else since TOCA 2 for this sort of thing though Quote
Chris.B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Thanks for that Blatters great advice for a PC game with a no british track on it GPL (add ons) DOES cover just about every British track you can think of. But since they are the 1968 layouts it's probably not what you're after. TOCA2 has plenty of British Tracks (not as many as GPL add-ins), layouts are as per 2000(ish) season. Quote
Blatman Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 The beauty of GPL is that (if you have the time) you can play with set ups and make whatever car you happen to be in drive like a Se7en. Remember, Westfields are basically similar to the Series 3 Lotus 7, which was, IIRC, launched in 1968... I'm also surprised that there hasn't been a newer version of TOCA. Maybe it didn't sell well... Quote
al4carol48 Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I'm also surprised that there hasn't been a newer version of TOCA. Maybe it didn't sell well... The Sequel to TOCA was Race Driver and then Race Driver 2. They don't have as many british tracks but all the main ones are in there. GPL is still the best due to all the addon tracks you can get for it. Quote

GPL is still the best due to all the addon tracks you can get for it. ...and TOCA Race Driver 3 due out soon. Not many British tracks though. GPL has (IMHO) the best physics model of a circuit race title & is a real "sim" not a game. FWIW I used to race at Combe alot before kids & when the circuit didn't have the two chicanes. The Combe add-in for GPL represented it very accurately, even to the extent of the patches on the tarmac & the surface contours. Quote
Chris.B Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 *********This Post Has Been Made By Chris.B's Son********* You didn't mention my Castle Combe lap record !!! *********This Post Has Been Made By Chris.B's Son********* Quote

Blackdog Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Buy F1C from EA Games and you can drive all of these Circuits Including Mallory Quote
greeny Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Has anyone tried the Harewood add-on for GPL? Trying to stay on the grippy stuff is a right challenge.....just like the real thing! Quote
