Fraser Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Buying a second hand set of split rims and ACB10s, any recommendations for who I should use for a courier to pick up and deliver? Phoned a couple this morning but they wanted them boxed up Any advice on packaging also gratefully received Fraser Quote
gadrego Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I recently sent a set off wrapped in bubble wrap through tuffnells. Not cheap though. Think it was nearly £80. Quote
Blatman Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Unwrapped means un-insured. Bubble wrap and box 'em. It's the only way. Insurance is often based on weight unless you specify a value. Normally, £15 per kilo is the standard insured value. Additional insurance is likely to be anywhere between 1% and 10% of the total insured value. As for who to use, they really are all much of a muchness. I've used them *all* over the years. Current selection criteria is based on who's the best of a bad bunch as much as price. So use whoever will give you what you want at the best price. Currently Business Post have my busines, but please don't consider that as a reccommendation, more a suggestion... And FWIW, I've been in the courier/logistics game for 21 years... Quote
