a4gom Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Thanks all for your help with the Build photo's etc I did my bit at the local school today with 90 kids from age 3 - 6. (Bit scary, photo's to follow) Showed them round the car, explained how it was put together, demonstrated pop riviting etc etc. Then Q&A from kids, no probs, why hasn't it got a spare wheel, why does the exhaust come out of the side, why hasn't it got a key, where's the boot etc etc.. Then one little girl 5 years old says is this a pre-lit model crikey moses i thinks where's that come from. Turns out it was a niece of a pal and i'd been set up. Anyway I think I explained what and why correctly but just in case can someone confirm what makes it pre-lit. Then just before I left one of the teacher gave me a little model of a Lotus 7 in red as a thankyou for visiting. I did ask if they wanted dohnuts in the playground but was told they were trying to promote a healthy diet to the kids. I left it at that! Quote
adhawkins Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 A 'pre-lit' refers to the very early Westfields. They were deemed (through litigation) to be a copy of the original Lotus 7 (that Caterham now own the rights to). As such, Westfield had to change the design. Cars made before this change are therefore now referred to as 'pre-lits'. Andy Quote
MartT Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Obvious change being the one piece bodytub, I think. Quote
