flanker7 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I go there about 3-4 times a week, amazing how it changes almost daily. As I went past yesterday they are putting up a new bridge. The main supports are in place as is a massive crane, I pressume to lift the road bits into place. Keep an ear open it can be a matter of time before they close that bit of the 25 to put in the final bits of bridge/road. Quote
adhawkins Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 See you Sunday, it will be nice to put a face to a name! Likewise... Andy Quote
Martin Keene Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 Keep an ear open it can be a matter of time before they close that bit of the 25 to put in the final bits of bridge/road. Just checked the Highways Agency website, all closure's of lanes, slipways etc are scheduled for night time so no problem. Good call though! Quote
DickieB Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Blatman: If reports suggest the roadworks are clear, then M25 it to the M4. Since when is "M25" a verb? Martin Keene: Likewise - I will be there on Sunday and look forward to meeting you. I think I owe you a beer as well? (XF Head some while back? ) Quote
Martin Keene Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 You do! How very honest of you sir... PS: Did it ever get used? Quote
DickieB Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Not yet, but there's still hope! Depends how tomorrow at Llandow goes! Quote

Blatman Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Since when is "M25" a verb? Since it was finished (well, you know what I mean) and since Londoners started to learn to love it... Quote

hilux Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 How bad is it with them bl**** roadworks? Good shout (I didnt realise that there were any) I`ve got to pick up a Mini for my son on Sunday (M25 anticlockwise from M1 to Farnham North into London on M3), where are the road works exactly? Would it pay me to go the long way round or is the M3 part of the 25 affected also Cheers Paul Quote
Blatman Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Roadworks are between the M4 jcn, and the M3 jcn, (14 to 11, IIRC) although they are both sides of the carriageway. It can be slow going on a Saturday... Same route for you as for Martin, except stay on the A312 to the A30, where you turn right heading for terminal 4. Keep going until you get back on the M25 where you junction hop 1 junction to the M3. Keep left for the hop and watch for cameras. They move them around, and it's a 40 limit... You'll have missed the worst of the roadworks, as well as missing the crowds that either go shopping or to the rugby in Twickenham. If there is a rugby game on, avoid the M3/A316 back in to London, you'll be there for hours. Better to come back round the M25 to the A30 and head for town that way (A30/A4), or go round the M25 east to the A3 and head for town via Wimbledon/Putney/Wandsworth, although traffic is *always* crap around Wandsworth... Yobbo Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I go through there most days, its J12 thru 15 both ways. In the J12 area they are getting done and its 5 lanes wide in places, but its 40 & 50 mph most of the time. If you are coming from the North then it will be easier than if you are coming from the south as the junction for the M4 that feeds T1,T2 and T3 is just north of the roadworks, but it does get effected by queues. The terminal 4 junction (14) is in the middle of the roadworks though. The average delay I find to be about half an hour at peak times, but much less in the middle of the day. Longest delay I have had is about 40 minutes. When its done we then have the exciting prospect of the next phase of improvements straight afterwards where they are adding an extra lane from J16 through to J25 which is a long way. May change jobs when they do that Quote
