jak Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Just saw this on Robin Hood engineering site - what do you lot think? As you may be aware, Robin Hood Sports Cars Ltd is for sale, we have been negotiating with new owners to take over our complete operation. In a surprise announcement they have asked us to refuse all orders for Lightweight kits as they would like to market the project themselves in their own style as they are not happy with our style. The sale still has to be finalised and inevitably there will be a delay in the new owners actually being able to offer the kit to the public. Their website Go to lightweight area Quote
westy Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I think they are being bought by the same people that purchased Caterham, to form a single brand called Robin'am Quote

Guest Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 The last syllable of each name - 'Bin'ham. Might not catch on with the new owners though. JD Quote
neilwillis Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I suppose a merger makes sense, cuz you can't tell em apart can you! Quote
SteveF Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think 'lightweight' is a relative term - as further down in the news section it says it's got a pinto engine Quote

Mark Stanton Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 is lightweight an excuse for thinner and cheaper parts (except pinto) Wonder how it'll get on with SVA Gotta feel a bit sorry for the folks buying em thinking they're getting a cheap deal on a sevenesque car Quote
