Does the LED on the sensor come on for all 6 bolts, on mine I had to fiddle because one didn't register at first...  

If the speedo is correct above 30 and your pulse value is correct then there could well be a problem with the gauge itself, may be worth checking with WF to see if anyone els has reported problems.

BTW there are various ways of doing speedo pickup.. Front upright, Propshaft and rear CV joint.. Don't worry your setup will work fine..
